Youth AOD Awareness and Drug BoxTraining Opportunity

The Mental Health Commission is facilitating a full day training event on Tuesday, 9 July 2024 on Youth AOD Awareness (including Drug Box Training) in Bunbury. Nominations for this training are now open. There is no cost for this training.

Time: 9:00am to 4:30pm (registrations from 8:30am)
Location: The Hall, Milligan House, 35 Milligan Street, BUNBURY 6230

Learning outcomes for this session include:
- Understand roles and responsibilities when working with young people who use AOD
- Explore attitudes and views towards young people who use AOD
- Discuss AOD dependence
- Discuss national harm minimization strategy and harm reduction approach
- Define AOD withdrawal
- Explore types and categories of drugs
- Discuss opioid overdose and naloxone
- Apply AOD assessment tools and models to a case study
