About this event
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for anyone aged 16 or older, regardless of prior experience or training, who are interested in becoming an ASIST-trained caregiver. Over the two-day course, you will develop the comfort, knowledge, and skills to confidently and competently intervene to support someone at risk of suicide.
Delivered in five sections, participants will progressively learn the skills to identify risk, to connect sensitively with someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and/or behaviours, and to effectively support them to keep safe, utilising your own skills as well as available resources and services.
Please consider the impact of attending suicide prevention training on you personally. People who have been recently bereaved by suicide or personally affected may wish to consider the timing for them to attend training. If you have any questions, please contact us on 9722 1956 or email us at suicideprevention.southwest@sjog.org.au
PLEASE NOTE: The venue the training is being held at requires proof of vaccination for entry and well as checking in and wearing a mask. Please stay home if you are unwell.
