Description | With a background in Arts and Education, Libby has extensive experience in working with young people and adults, and is a freelance writer for International mental health zines. An accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and offering the 4-hour Conversations About Suicide training course, Libby specialising in delivering courses to remote and rural courses around WA. As a Musical Theatre Director and Teacher, Libby also delivers dance, drama, and singing programs that facilitate engaging theatre arts experiences for children and young adults. The Arts are a powerful means of self-expression and development, used to help young people explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, boost self-esteem, and work on social skills. These opportunities for young people are positive ways to help emotions and feelings be expressed in a safe and fun environment when words simply aren’t enough. Libby is also actively involved in local community alliances for mental health – Mindful Margaret River, and Busselton-Dunsborough Alliance Against Depression -, and supports Indigenous scholarships through her course bookings. Passionate about Mental Health and Youth, Libby has worked and travelled extensively internationally in Africa, United Kingdom, Europe, and throughout Australia. |
